April Update

Mucho texto.

First things first, before I update y’all about the project status, look at this epic video.

[Bee is jumping off the building. Parts of his robotic body are separating, absorbing the impact of the landing.]

Bee: Feasting on the patience of your followers. How easily you ignore the lack of Biman releases when it suits your convenience. So tell me: Who saves the EOPs from the man who saves the EOPs?

Arc: You’re the one exploiting them. You take advantage of their weakness…. of course they get hurt when you claim you won’t work on any other Biman game.

Bee: Translate or be machine translated, Arc. Zakamutt taught me that.

[We’re going into first-person mode. Bee goes back and forth and talks to Arc, while the Daybreak team members standing on the sides are furiously shitposting.]

Bee: Yes, you aren’t the only one to grow up on the translation fields. Fan translation is a cruel parent, but an effective teacher. Its final lesson is carved deep in my psyche: That this community, and all its people, are diseased. Perfect literal translations are a myth. Localizations are a joke. We are all pawns, controlled by something greater: Memelations. The DNA of the soul. They shape our will. They are the culture — they are everything we pass on. Expose someone to anger long enough, they will learn to hate. They become a carrier. Envy, greed, despair… All in our memelations. All passed along.

Arc: How about “full of shit?” Is that a memelation?

Bee: You can’t fight nature, Arc. Wind blows, rain falls, and the JOPs prey upon the EOPs. Icku tells me you see your Japanese knowledge as a tool. Something that saves lives — a means of justice. Now there’s a pretty memelation. Exquisite! It’s spared you the burden of all the cooms you’ve ruined… Absolved you of guilt when you enjoyed it.

Bee: That is, until the illusion was broken. Don’t be ashamed. It’s only nature, running its course. You have no choices to make. Nothing to answer for. You can die with a clear conscience.

Arc: You’re right. About me, I mean. I know something was… off. After the release of Biman 1, I thought I could walk off the battlefield and into a normal life. But here I am, surrounded by cringe, arguing philosophy with coomers. I told myself this was about justice. About translating for the weak. But I was wrong.

Bee: (laughs) Then you admit it?

Arc: I learned young that inserting memes in my translations felt good. Really good. In Finland, my friends… my family… They helped me forget the devil inside. But who am I kidding? I was born to meme. The bit about my JP knowledge — that “means of justice” stuff? I guess I needed something to keep “the Joker” in check when I was knee-deep in memes.

Bee: You…

Arc: But you — all this — is a wake-up call to what I really believe. What I really am.

Bee: What are you saying…?

Arc: I’m saying Arc is back.

Kobra: But Biman 2.5 was saved…?

Bee: And yet coomer blood was spilled.

Kobra: By coomers! Besides, a few dozen discord users is tragic, but nothing to start a major spergfest over.

Bee: That’s just the spark, son. The excuse we’ve been waiting for. Daybreak’s wanted this game for years. The true VN fans — they knew the Biman drought was good for the economy. Five years later its legacy lingers on…

Kobra: The memes…

Bee: They left us their great sequels! Trap Biman! Robopussy Biman! Renge sex Biman! Welcome Bimans for these with no faith — without guiding principles of their own. Give yourself up to the whole. No need to better yourself —you’re a coomer! You’re number one! Then the only value left is machine translation — the submerged economy. So we’ll do whatever it takes to keep it down. Even war. Especially translation war.

Kobra: Bullshit.

Bee: The coomers planted the seed — we don’t need them around to filter and foster their memes any longer. We’re spreading them just fine ourselves. Every coomer man, woman and manchild… We’re all sons of Renge now! We just need something to jump start the Biman resurgence out of this funk. This recession it’s been stuck in since Arc released the first game’s TL in 2018.

Kobra: And the translation costs? Wasting billions is going to help the coomers?

Bee: QCs, Image Editors, TLCs… Job creators, Kobra! All those coomers spending money, paying patreons of machine translators… Trust me, a little translation can work wonders.

Kobra: So grease the gears with some innocent splooge, is that it?

Bee: Relax, Kobra. It’s a “war on terrorism.” We’re not out to kill coomers. Machine Translators. JOPs. Madmen.

Anyways, so yeah, Biman is out today. Happy April Fools day, yada yada yada. I’ll post the funny Armstrong gif here too because we did it for Oneyuu, so why not?

Download is in the downloads section. Any typos and issues report them to us so we can ignore them. :letroll:

See you around.

The memes were with me from the day I was born… and they will live long after I die… the memelations exist within our very souls, even the souls of those men who claim to be literalists, who seek to destroy the very core of language to obtain a core of pure exoticism, have only struck upon their own memelation, for it is a fact that they have grown to crave a fetishized image, a common notion if you will, and what is that but a meme? Much as their genes cry out for something original, the memes that rule this world will never surrender! There is no escape from their overwhelming might but in a world of solitude and indifference, one where concepts cannot even be discerned, a perfect death of the ego. A world they shall never have if they reach yet again for the sweet chalice of localization. But seek they oblivion — of the perfect and everlasting kind kind, of course — perhaps their wish may be granted.

    Madokami’s wish be done,

    Zakamutt.
