Salutations, everyone. Another month, another blog post. This one with better news than the last.
I’ll do the usual of dividing projects and individually brief what’s going on with them atm as far as I know:
Gin’Iro
Irru is about a third done with his work on this. I tend to ask him monthly, and this is what he told me a couple weeks ago, so assume progress is close to 50%. I know I said we’d release on early 2023, but to be completely honest that was me assuming stuff without consulting Irru first. I sure hope we release soon, but only time will tell. Sorry if you’ve been waiting for this for a while.
Mizuha’s changes are pretty much applied and done. I asked on the discord if people would prefer a patch with these fixes applied to be pushed now or with Yuzuki, and the overwhelming majority voted for the latter, so for the time being we’ll hold on to these changes until Yuzuki’s ready for release.
Akatsuki no Goei 2
We’ve had a one-month break from editing this, and now we’re back. Aya has been seeing some progress, and I assume Kobra will be done with it pretty soon. QA has also pretty much finished checking the routes Kobra has completed, so that’s good.
There may be a couple of delays happening in the coming month, so our estimation of a summer release still holds (I think?) but it’ll be late summer whenever you see a patch for this game in particular (I believe I paraphrased what Kobra told me some time ago, but I might be wrong on this).
Akatsuki no Goei: Yumibukaki Onsenyado (Drama CD)
I finished working on the drama CD of this a while ago. Again I asked on Discord whether people would prefer this to be added into the game along with game 2 or 3, and the overwhelming majority chose the latter, so once more, we’ll hold onto the finished product until game 3 releases.
Akatsuki no Goei: Tsumibukaki Shuumatsuron
I started working on this again just recently (as recently as 2 days ago, in fact) since my workload has decreased a little, and I’m making steady progress (about 300 lines per day). Kobra and I discussed what would be the best plan of action, and we ended up creating a schedule for me to reliably work on this game without burning out and staying consistent throughout the process. This schedule involves me doing 300 lines a day for 5 days a week, so we’re looking at 6k lines per month. Assuming I have perfect work ethic and don’t skip days (I’ll do my best) this game will be completely translated by March 2024 (just as a reminder, this game has around 70k lines and 1M japanese characters).
Apart from that, I once again asked on Discord if partials would be fine to release, and an overwhelming majority of votes preferred simply a full patch to be released, so we’ll do just that, no partials. Same goes for game 2.
Well then, that’s pretty much everything I had for this month. We surprisingly got no complaints regarding Biman 2.5, so I’ll assume we did a nice job on it and move on completely.
Have a nice day, and may (heh) the Lord protect you guys in your time of need.
