It’s been around 7 years since I began this project in earnest. Back then I was 20 years old, not even the N5 in hand, and fully confident about my ability to translate this trilogy faithfully (spoiler alert: I wasn’t ready). Now I translate these things for a living. Pretty cool!

I had to translate the first game twice, completely trashing the first translation because of how awful it was. Honestly, when I gave up on the first effort I thought I wouldn’t have it in me to finish these three games, but I was wrong about that.
To be honest, I’ve developed a love-hate relationship with this series. If I were still excited about working on it (I’m currently experiencing what is commonly known as “Kinugasa Exhaustion”), I probably would have changed a lot of things last year due to my evolving translation standards. But ain’t nobody got time for that shit.
Leaving that aside, I want to personally thank everyone who not only helped in the creation of this patch directly & indirectly, but also to those who have supported us and our efforts for all these years (I know some people who have been checking this place since 2019). So yeah! Thanks a lot for supporting this project, as well as my dream, in a way!
While I’m not a big supporter of AkabeiSoft and their business practices, I encourage those who can afford it to please support the devs by buying the game. It is thanks to them that the trilogy exists, and I’d appreciate it if those enjoying it overseas helped them in any way possible.
Along with the trilogy patch, we also include two additional patches related to a specific side route in the Reminiscence series, which we refer to as Kaito’s After Story. While we will provide a guide for installing these patches, it’s important to note that you will need to have both Reminiscence games to fully enjoy them. We understand if you prefer not to go through the trouble, especially since these patches do not fully translate the two games. These Reminiscence patches contain 10k lines of extra content and some mini side stories found in Re:Collect (please note that we did not edit the game’s UI, so you may need to try them until you see English text).
We will provide a guide to install the reminiscence patches in another post or the downloads page. Check both whenever we release, just in case.
I also want to announce that, after receiving feedback from many people urging me to do so, I will now open our Patreon page for those who want to support us in other ways. There are free, 1, 3, and 5 USD per month tiers available. Additionally, some individuals have expressed interest in making direct donations, so we will provide a direct Ko-Fi link as an alternative to a monthly subscription. Those who opt for direct donations will still receive Patreon perks if they desire. We will also extend Patreon benefits to those who choose to boost our Discord server without subscribing to our Patreon.
For those that want to donate to us directly instead of doing Patreon, you can do so through here:
https://ko-fi.com/daybreaktranslations
We opened a channel in our Discord to report typos or issues we may have missed. There are some typo fixes and changes we plan to implement in future patches that were not included in this one, so we may not accept all suggestions. As always, all criticism of our work is welcome as long as it’s respectful.
I think that pretty much covers everything I wanted to say. See you next time for the Majikoi A+ release!
Now, for some funny moments:
