August Update

*Incomprehensible screech* Ahem, hello. It’s me, Bee, with some updates on the current situation of the projects and that stuff.

Akatsuki no Goei 2

Finished Takanori’s Extra story, as well as polished the H scenes from Aya’s and Reika’s/ Kyouka’s route. Now editor should be going through these eventually, and we’ll release a partial with those three things.

Gin’Iro Haruka Yuzuki Route (Pain)

I’ll finish the High School arc this friday. There’s one behemoth script of 80kb left, and after that I jump directly to the Rome after arc. Yuzuki will be finished the 8th of September, as I currently follow a tight completion schedule.

Uhh, that’s all. If you couldn’t tell, I’m depressed right now (someone save me from the Yuzuki pit, please).

In other unrelated news, we’re in the middle of thinking of possible new things I could take on once I’m done with Gin’Iro, so leave your suggestions here or in our discord server.

PS: Do not recommend Tsukikana for our next project, thanks in advance.

See you next month when I’m done with Yuzuki.

Thank you for the update! I would like you to know that I appreciate your slogging through the Yuzuki route hell.

Luckily it seems others have picked up Tsukikana so you can be spared from that. I like Toneworks, but they can sometimes drag on to read/play so can’t imagine what it’s like to translate, edit and TLC some of those routes.

Would you consider Tsujidou-san no Virgin Road, the fandisc of Tsujidou-san no Jun’ai Road? I really enjoyed that VN and have been eager for a group to pickup the fandisc

    • Bee says:

Hey there Null. Thanks for the comment. Many have told me that the Tsukikana project is more or less dead, so that’s why I mention it, since more than one person has asked me to take over once I’m done with Gin’Iro.

Ironically enough, Virgin Road is my most likely pick after I’m done with Gin’Iro, so that’s a good choice right there, friend!

      • Null0 says:

That’s a shame if it’s dead, but it seems we’ve been lucky with so many of the Toneworks games getting TL’d considering how long they are. I do hope Tsukikana gets TL’d, but I’ll avoid asking for it, I’m happy enough that you’ve picked up Gin’Iro when it was dropped and have been working at an amazing speed on it 🙂

Glad to hear that on Virgin Road. I’d imagine after going through Gin’Iro you’d want a change of pace, so seems Virgin Road would provide that, with something a bit more light hearted and certainly different from Gin’Iro if you do go down that route. Will be looking forward to whatever you decide to work on next. Again, thank you very much for your hard work!

  2. kyo4444 says:

Sucks Tsukikana will likely never get TL’d, but I do have a few other suggestions I would like to throw out there. Namely: Evolimit, fortissimo EXS//Akkord:nächsten Phase, and Oni ga Kuru. ~Ane ga Hinshi de Pinchi Desu~. Complete outlier choice that will never happen is OreTsuba.

    • Bee says:

Hey there kyo. Thanks for the recs. You’re not the first person that recommended me evolimit (in fact someone in my team did) so I’ll keep it in mind. I’m pretty sure Fortissimo was already translated by a company, and I’ll put Onikuru on the potential list as well.

As for Oretsuba, it’s kind of complicated. Ou Jackson’s writing is pretty difficult to emulate into English, for starters. Secondly, I’d probably get harassed and brigaded by some groups of people should I try to translate it (pretty much like Sakuuta), and lastly that game is a little too long for me (1.7M characters, same length as Gin’Haru) so probably something beyond my possibilities speaking from a solo perspective.

In any case, thanks for the recs. I’ll keep them in mind!

      • kyo4444 says:

Yeah, I suggested fortissimo because the official release is poor machine translation with little to no editing and the promised planned editing by the publisher years ago seems to have been completely abandoned.

        • Bee says:

Oh, it has been worked by Sakuragame, then no wonder you’re saying that. Okay, I’ll keep it in consideration then!

  3. Hobgoblin2022 says:

How is Mizuha’s route editing proceeding? Are you still going to release it before Yuzuki? Just being curious.

    • Bee says:

Hey there mister Goblin. Our plans with Mizuha are pretty much unchanged. Once the route is done editing, we’ll QA it and release. Some people claim that we will release along with Yuzuki, but this is simply not true. We’ll release routes individually as they’re done.

      • Hobgoblin2022 says:

Ok, thanks for the reply! It’s just I am really looking forward to Mizuha’s route, thanks again for your work!

        • Bee says:

No problem. I’m here to answer all questions. Once we’re closer to Mizuha’s release we’ll be sure to notify everyone!

  4. imoutolord13 says:

Any VN with Kusuhara Yui voice acting an imouto character.

  5. ottarofan11 says:

Thank you for doing your best, even though you don’t like the Yuzuki Route!
I think the schedule is also a better idea so you know when you will be free of the imoutostuff xD
The VN Shogun-sama wa Otoshigoro looked interesting to me and according to vndb it’s also not a very long Visual Novel 😛
Thanks again for your hard work ^^

    • Bee says:

Hey there ottaro, me not liking Yuzuki’s route is kind of a running gag, but in reality her route is fine. The only issue I personally find problematic of it are the H scenes, but nothing else.

Shogun-sama wa Otoshigoro is actually a great game, and more people should deserve reading it, so I am glad someone recommended this. I’ll definitely add it to the list, friend!

      • ottarofan11 says:

Ah okay good to know i was kinda worried that you were forcing yourself too much xD
But yeah i can kinda understand that there are definitely better things to translate then moans and stuff like that xD

Yea I saw the game on dlsite a few weeks ago and really liked the artstyle and the setting, but also didn’t seem like a novel that would be picked up soon so it’s nice to know that you already heard of it ^^

  6. Josho says:

First of all thanks for all the hard work and the pain you bear with the yuzuki route.

As a suggestion for the next Projekt i would like to throw in Yubisaki Connection.

We need more adult charakters xD

    • Bee says:

Hey there Josho, thanks for the rec, excellent taste, because that game literally ticks all my yeses (Iori best girl). The only slight issue I find with it is that it kind of belongs to a company that currently deals with Nekonyan, so it probably wouldn’t be the best idea. BUT, I will keep it in the possible to do list!

      • Anonymous says:

Would this also be a deterrent for Shogun-sama wa Otoshigoro since both JAST and NekoNyan actively work with Alcot?

        • Bee says:

Hey there. Probably not, as Alcot is not a company that has very strong ties with any publisher in particular.

      • Josho says:

Ah a fellow man of culture xD

Yea i hoped that it would be one of the secret projekts of Nekonyan but it were in vain haha.

Thanks for keeping it in the possible list even If the chances are low there is still hope.

        • Bee says:

Thanks friend. Yeah, like I said, chances are low, since it’s Hookssoft’s newest game, and companies tend to go for newer games nowadays, so the most likely scenario is that someone will eventually pick it up. Thanks for the support anyway!

  7. Salute~ says:

Just realized someone picked this up after Trip fell in the line of duty. Someone needs to add a separate English patch entry for this on VNDB. Thank you so much for your work, and giving us hope!!

    • Bee says:

Hey there, Salute. Thanks a lot for your support! Yeah, I’m not sure why the patch doesn’t appear as a separate entity, mainly because it makes it look like we’re the same team with a rebranded name when we’re not.

Anyways, thanks for the comment nonetheless!

  8. sahrara says:

Hi, just found out about the traduction was picked up with another team. I have been lost hope someone translate it some day so I don’t even check for it anymore, mizuha was the route that interest me the most so really nice to learn this is already translated, thank you for that its a long route to translate. And as someone already suggest it I would like to recommand Tsujidou virgin road , loved this vn , even just the two new girl route woul be great.

  9. First of all thank you for the hard work, if i had a wish to see a vn translated it will by from my wishlist on VNDB like Kimi ga Aruji de Shitsuji ga Ore de, Maoten, Hana Hime * Absolute!, Missing-X-Link ~Ten no Yurikago, Togi no Hana~, and again thank you, take care, love ya.

  10. Jim says:

Suggestion: Haruka ni Aogi, Uruwashi no: https://vndb.org/r58789 There’s a 77% patch about to be released since the translator left the project. Maybe you guys could complete it?

    • Bee says:

Hey there Jim. I actually know the translator for this project and have read Haru Uru. Just to make things clear, completing it will likely not happen from my end, as I don’t like the game.

    • Jo says:

Suggestion : Himawari no Kyoukai to Nagai Natsuyasumi

  11. Karasubu says:

Hello, thank you for your hard work! I wonder why you don’t want to go with Tsukikana as next project. Is it because it’s hard to translate or are there some technical problems that make it difficult? Not trying to be offensive or anything like that, just genuinely curious what is the reason. Also for different recommendations I’d love to see any Amakano translated (all of them are highly rated on vndb so I’d love to check them out but after 8 years without translation to even first vn I lost hope that I will be able to experience it without learning japanesee). Another would be Aonatsu Line (Alka said they will translate it but I think they didn’t even start it after year from that announcement so project may be dead) or Aokana EXTRA 2.

    • Bee says:

Hey there Karasubu. It’s okay to ask why, no offense taken. Tsukikana has two main issues I found after reading it:

      1. It’s too long of a game for me to comfortably tackle it alone (1.2 Million characters)

      2. The plot is not very interesting and is not engaging enough for me to like it. After Gin’Haru, which has basically no plot, I would like something with more substance.

As for the Amakano games, I’ve heard that at least the first one is one that the Japanese company Nexton wants to pick up at some point, officially mentioned in their discord, so I’d probably stay away from that. Same goes with Aokana. Aokana as far as I’m aware is Nekonyan’s golden goose, and they’ll eventually get to working on it since it’ll bring the big bucks.

The only one I’d consider would be Aonatsu Line, which is… a diffcult one, mainly because as you said, Alka Translations announced it, and as far as I’m aware they’re a reliable team, but it is also true that after 2 years or so there’s been no news of it. So I’ll note it as a possibility.

      Thanks for your comment regardless!

      • Karasubu says:

Ah I get it, even though no plot, slice of life vn’s are my favorite I can understand that it’s easy to get exhausted if you read too many of them in short time (and with translating it’s probably even worse). Well there is at least tiny bit of hope because guy from HoshiWork said that they didn’t abandon it just have some problems recently.

Oh I haven’t heard anything about Amakano translation before. Thanks for giving me at least tiny bit of hope.

Yea I forgot about the fact that Aokana is Nekonyan’s, it will probably take some time before they get to it but it has really high chance of being translated so I shouldn’t worry about it.

Thank you for answer and good luck with next project!

  12. Ventrilux says:

Good job with translation! As for recommendations for next project I have few titles in mind:
Anata ni Koi Suru Ren’ai Recette
Golden Hour (there is only unedited MTL)
    Haru Kiss
    Koi x Shin Ai Kanojo
    Re CATION ~Melty Healing~
    Re: LieF ~Shin’ainaru Anata e~
    Sakura Iro, Mau Koro ni
Sousaku Kanojo no Ren’ai Koushiki (also only unedited MTL)
Walkure Romanze ~Shoujo Kishi Monogatari~ (common route and one heroine route got translated and left)

    • Bee says:

Hey there Ventrilux. Thank you for the recs and the comment, I’ll keep them in mind.

Just a small comment on Walkure Romance, to my understanding, the team who released that partial is still working on the VN, and they eventually plan to release everything, so yeah!

  13. G says:

Hi. I hava a sugestion. Why not take some MTS visual novel, polish them and release them.

    • Bee says:

Hi there, G. The reason it’s not on my top list of priorities is because unless the game in question is relatively popular, the end result would be appreciated by way less people than if I released a patch for a game with no previous translation work.

Virgin Road is a nice choice. i was planning on reading that one in Japanese but if your picking that one up i am ready to wait. Good Luck and thanks
