Wow, so it’s finally happened, huh?
Hello, this is your resident denpa guy and cynical asshole, KKHimawari, and I’m writing this blog post to let you know that the translation for The Rotting Princess is finished! All 255 scripts done! Holy, that was a wild ride, and I don’t regret a single moment of (well, besides the 600 or so line loli h-scene, but we all have struggles). Kusarihime is a fantastic read, incredibly unique in premise, decadent in all the right ways, and translating the whole thing has only re-cemented my love for it, as well as my want for others to enjoy it as I did.
And with Gore Screaming Show out today, we’re getting even more horror VNs into the English scene, which can only be a good thing in my humble opinion. I’m so glad to eventually get this masterpiece out to the world for you all to read. Of course, don’t expect the full release anytime soon. The staff all have prior engagements to get to; I just happened to be pretty fast with this one. Editing and TLC is slowly getting underway, and I’ll keep you posted monthly about it.
Finally, though this may seem soon for some (I don’t care), I want to announce my next project that I’ll be starting work on once I’m finished with university for the winter, and that is Umi Kara Kuru Mono, under the English name “It Came From the Depths”! Here’s the VNDB link for this one (https://vndb.org/v6545). This one is the first VN I ever read in Japanese, and as a result, it’s always held a special place in my heart. Plus, it’s just a damn good dark piece of media with some nice writing, darkness abound, and despicable actions. I hope you’re looking forward to it!
Next, this project will be entirely separate from the Daybreak Translations label. From now on, I’ll be starting my own translation group known as Melancholy Translations. That’s where I’ll be doing all of my translation work from now, though I’ll still be involved with Daybreak in some way.
Here is the Discord link for those looking for some nice lesser-known VNs, dark VNs, and VNs that just don’t get enough love overall: https://discord.gg/Y9ppZnHCc9.
I’m looking forward to seeing any new members in the future! Alright, that’ll be it from me. Signing off, your denpa guy, KKHimawari.

Holy shit! that’s absolutely amazing, thank you for all the work!
So, Kusarihime has a translation? Where can we download it?
The Pomelo guy from discord server said that it’s still in the editing stage and he is slowly working on it.
Sorry, but where can I download this patch?
Hey there, Lloigor.
1. The patch isn’t out yet, as far as we’re aware.
2. We’re not the group taking care of this project anymore, that’d be a thing of Melancholy Translations now.
Thank you
